How much Roundup do I mix per gallon of water? ›

I mix 3 oz to each gallon in a 4 gallon back pack. I only fill it to 3 gallon using 9oz. I USED TO use 1.5 oz per gallon & it did ok. I doubled the chemical per gallon & have much much better results.

I use Roundup Pro concentrate that comes in a 2.5gal jug. I've been using 8-10oz to fill my 4 gal. sprayer.

Mixes Easily With Water: Use 1.5 ounces (3 tablespoons) of concentrate in 1 gallon of water for general weed control. For tougher weed control of perennials or brush, mix 2.5 ounces (5 tablespoons) in 1 gallon of water. One gallon of ready-to-use equivalent will cover 300 square feet.

The general mixing rate is 10mL per litre of water.

Mixing Instructions

Tank Sprayer: Use 3 fl. oz. (6 Tbs.) in 1 gallon of water.

Adding ammonium sulfate (AMS) to the water in the spray tank before adding glyphosate will act as a water conditioner and improve weed control, regardless of whether or not a surfactant is needed.

To treat the target area, add a little more than 5 oz. of herbicide to 143 oz. of water (148 – 5). Because there are 128 ounces in 1 gallon, this will mean adding 5 ounces of herbicide to 1.1 gal.

Corn gluten is an organic herbicide that stops specific weeds from growing roots. It is used to control crabgrass and some other lawn weeds before they grow. Acetic acid or horticultural white vinegar kills weeds naturally and fast.

Ideal Conditions

For best results, apply Roundup® Weed & Grass Killer products during warm, sunny weather above 60°F. Apply Roundup® For Lawns products when daytime temperatures are between 45° and 90° F.

Most treated weeds show initial symptoms in 2 to 4 days and complete kill in 1 to 2 weeks. Larger more established weeds may take up to 4 weeks for complete kill. For best results, apply on a warm, sunny day when daytime temperature is above 60°F and no rainfall is forecast for 24 hours.
