July 29:
Police were flagged down about an area of corn that had been knocked down just west of town along Bonham Road. There was a concern about an accident there. Records indicated a single-vehicle accident had occurred there the previous day.
Police responded to a report of a utility wire lying across the roadway in the 300 block of NE 2nd Avenue. The wire was removed, and Frontier Telephone was contacted for repairs.
Logan Lambie, 21, St Petersburg, Fla., was issued an administrative warning ticket (AWT) for soliciting without a permit in the 00 block of NE 6th Street.
Police responded to a loose dog complaint in the 300 block of SE 2nd Street.
July 30:
While patrolling, police noticed a semi-tractor/trailer parked in the 700 block of West Division Street. The officer spoke to the driver, who was waiting for a local business to open. The driver was told he needed to move to avoid blocking traffic.
Police assisted Rux Funeral Home with traffic control for a large funeral procession that proceeded west from town.
Police responded to an activated burglar alarm in the 00 block of NW 3rd Street. It was determined to be a door that was unlatched and blowing in the wind.
While patrolling, police noticed a train that stopped and blocked every railroad crossing in town for 52 minutes. BNSF was contacted and the train eventually moved along.
Alan Edwards, 58, Galesburg, was cited for operating a vehicle when registration was suspended for mandatory insurance and operating an uninsured vehicle as the result of a traffic stop in the 400 block of West Division. He was released with a required court date.
Police checked the welfare of several animals in the 200 block of NW 1st Avenue. They appeared to be well cared for.
Police were flagged down about a car vs deer collision several miles north of town. Henry County located the vehicle on County Highway 5 near 650 North.

Police assisted a citizen with questions about safely storing firearms at a residence on SE 6th Street.
Police spoke to a resident by telephone about obtaining documentation of a recent death. They were referred to the coroner’s office.

Police responded to a request to watch for a reckless driver who was coming from Kewanee at the east edge of town. The officer located the driver and advised them of the complaint.
Police responded to a low-speed vehicle inspection in the 600 block of NW 3rd Street.
Police assisted Henry County Sheriff’s Department with a civil paper service in the 300 block of NW 3rd Avenue.
Police responded to a 9-1-1 hang-up call in the 500 block of NW 11th Street. It was determined to be a misdial.
Aug. 2:
Police responded to a 9-1-1 open line call in the 1100 block of SE 2nd Street. The officer was not able to locate anyone needing assistance.
Police responded to a report of a suicidal subject threatening to harm himself at a residence on SW 3rd Avenue. Family members were able to confirm the subject was out of state while making these threats.
Police assisted a motorist with a disabled vehicle in the 1200 block of SE 2nd Street vehicle.
James Staggs, 37, Galva, was arrested for driving while license was suspended after a traffic stop in the 1100 block of SE 2nd Street. He was taken to the police department for processing and then released with a required court date.
Aug. 3:
Police responded to an unknown complaint in the 300 block of SW 3rd Street for an unknown complaint. The subject was suffering from a mental health crisis.
Police responded to a complaint involving forced entry to a residence in the 100 block of NE 9th Street. The officer was not able to locate anyone.
Police responded to a 9-1-1 hang-up all in the 300 block of SW 3rd Street. The subject was suffering from a mental health crisis.
Police responded to a solicitor complaint in the 500 block of NW 11th Street. The subject was located and asked to cease their actions after it was determined they did not have a permit.
Police responded to a crossing arm malfunction at the NE 6th Avenue crossing. BNSF was contacted for repairs.
Police responded to “a large fire complaint” in the 700 block of NE 2nd Avenue. It was a controlled burn.
Josiah Daneels, 20, Mooseheart, was issued a citation for speeding in the 1000 block of North Center Avenue.
